There is connecting and there is connection. Connecting for a reason is what we usually do. This is when a person can do something for us, you need a job, need a friend, looking to network the list goes on! But true connection is to connect for the pure reason of extending ourselves over to another human. As Humans we need and desire connection to others. As humans we also have a tendency to use this need to profit us. I have done this in real estate. I will build on a connecting bridge with someone that I know will have a need for such something that I can provide to them but will profit me. This need to connect I used to manipulate so I, in the near future can gain financial growth. I would center myself and connect with people who would soon have this need and I hid it behind a friendship. I was good at this because I seemed genuine. But this type of manipulation comes at a price. The price of hurting this person who has valued your relationship at a level that I have not invested in.
If you need that person for something, look deep into truly having a connection with them, that pure love, take the time to give of yourself and then see if you still need “that thing” you went to get from them in the first place or has this changed to a Connection, not just to connect. You may surprise yourself, your reward will be higher the financial, you will be soooo much richer.
